BOISE, IDAHO, May 03, 2019 –For more than 31 years, the Ronald McDonald House in Boise, Idaho has been a “home-away-from-home” for families with sick children. Many of these families often travel from hundreds of miles away so their child can receive medical treatment in Boise.

The facility provides private bedrooms for each family, as well as common spaces, kitchens and a living room. While the current commercial carpeting in the living room has been durable over the years, it was time for it to be switched out for something new.”

When Tappeto, one of the first online flooring companies to offer full-service installed carpeting heard of this need, they offered to provide the home with new, super soft, stain-resistant carpeting.

“This new soft and inviting carpet will make families feel even more at home during their stay here at the House,” said Mindy Plumlee, Executive Director of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Idaho.

“I have four kids myself and knew of the story of one of our team members who spent time in a Ronald McDonald House while her son was fighting for his life” said Tappeto CEO Shawn Wilson. “We wanted to give families a warmer, homier space to gather for some much-needed downtime.”

On May 6th, the carpeting will be installed, followed by a “Family Movie Night” the next week for those staying at the facility. “It may not be the same as being home, but perhaps we can help these families get back to a normal fun night of playing and relaxing on the floor in the family room” said Shawn Wilson. “I for one am going to build a pillow fort.”
